ARTS WRITERS & CIRCUS ARTS VOL.II – FOCUS ON CIRCUS BODIES

9^th – 12^th of May at Kiasma Theatre

In partnership with Circostrada Network the Finnish Circus Information Centre will organise a professional seminar aimed at young critics, cultural journalists, editors of art magazines, and performing arts researchers and students in order to:

·         Introduce them to the aesthetics of the contemporary circus;

·         Allow them to attend a series of performances;

·         Schedule encounters with artists;

·         Expose them to a series of thematic discussions on the circus arts;

·         Provide the necessary conditions for a deep reflection on the creative and innovative aspects of the circus within the realm of the performing arts and contemporary creation.

The seminar guest speakers include circus researcher Jean-Michel Guy (France), professor Peta Tait (La Trobe University, Australia), circus researcher Camilla Damkjaer (Stockholm University) and circus festival director Ivan Kralj (Croatia), who will act as the seminar moderator.
